Our mission is to ensure all students have the support they need to pursue and attain a college degree.
Who We Serve
Let's Get Ready supports students from junior year of high school all the way through college graduation. This support is free, even if students change schools or take breaks from their education. Most LGR students are people of color, come from communities with fewer resources, or will be the first in their family to attend college. Our students live in many different areas, from cities to rural towns, across all 50 states.
What Makes Us Different
Working in collaboration with peer organizations, secondary schools, and institutions of higher ed, we craft customized content and interventions at the system and student level to make sure our support represents evidence-based national practices as well as responsiveness to the student context. Our program is designed for scale with low cost per student and attention to depth, rigor, and quality. At Let's Get Ready, each student gets their own near-peer coach. These coaches are highly trained, paid, current college students who offer encouragement and support exactly when it's needed. Students receive personalized messages every week. These messages help them reach important college milestones. When students reply, it is their coach who answers, providing quick, caring, and high-quality responses. LGR Coaches offer quick answers, empathy, and cheerleading during tough times. They also help troubleshoot deep problems. If a student's challenge is too big for a near-peer coach, we have a system to get them extra help quickly. This ensures students get targeted support until they are back on track.

Our program model is based on harnessing the wisdom, experience and engagement of students to create meaningful change for their peers and communities. As such, we focus on students first – we plan around their diverse needs, ensure our program is widely accessible, celebrate their talents and successes, and proactively seek their feedback.
