Our Impact

“LGR really showed up for me during college in ways that stuck with me. One moment that stands out was a conversation I had with one of the coaches when I was going through a lot mentally, trying to figure out life after graduation. I had my degree in one hand but still felt unsure about my next move. That conversation helped me slow down and realize I didn’t need to have everything figured out right away. They reminded me to trust my process, stay consistent, and keep showing up every day. That stuck with me and pushed me to stay focused instead of getting overwhelmed." –LGR Student

“Another moment was a message I received from LGR that came at the right time. It was about staying disciplined and not letting temporary feelings control long-term goals. That really changed how I approached things day to day. Instead of overthinking, I started locking in more, being intentional with my time, and holding myself accountable. It helped me shift my mindset from just getting through college to actually preparing myself for what comes next.” –LGR Student

“I began college during COVID and unfortunately my campus was shut down due to a rise in cases after we resumed in-person learning, thus my feeling of belonging was entirely skewed. My LGR coach was very helpful in reaffirming that there were still many students across the globe who felt similarly, that I wasn't alone. They encouraged me to reach out to friends I still had and maintain those friendships, which helped me tremendously. It was able to offset that feeling of not belonging and thankfully, it didn't last long when my university resumed in-person classes.” –LGR Student

“One example is when I was talking on the phone with a mentor about how financially stressful college was, and she mentioned an extra scholarship opportunity that I was not aware of which helped me in my college journey.” –LGR Student

“That advice came at a time when I really needed it. There were a lot of moments during college where things felt uncertain, especially getting closer to graduation. I had support around me, but not everyone could fully understand what I was going through or give me clear direction. A lot of people would say things like “you’ll figure it out,” which helped a little, but it wasn’t always enough when I was trying to stay focused and not lose momentum.” –LGR Student

“One message that stuck with me was about staying disciplined even when you don’t feel like it. I didn’t text back, but it hit at the right time. It made me lock in more, stop making excuses, and stay consistent with what I needed to do. Even without responding, I was applying it every day.” –LGR Student

“What stood out with my coach/LGR was that the guidance was consistent and actionable. It wasn’t just motivation; it was reminders to stay disciplined, control what I can control, and keep showing up every day. That gave me something I could actually apply, especially during moments when I felt stuck or unsure.” –LGR Student

“That’s why it stuck with me more than anything else. It filled a gap that I didn’t always get from others. It helped me shift my mindset, stay locked in, and keep pushing forward instead of overthinking or getting distracted.” –LGR Student

“One piece of advice that really stuck with me was to trust my process and stay consistent, even when things felt uncertain. There were moments I didn’t know what my next step looked like, but that reminder helped me stay grounded and keep going. It pushed me to focus on what I could control, keep showing up every day, and not let doubt throw me off track. That mindset really helped me get through to graduation.” –LGR Student

“A lot of the time, I was too busy to reply or couldn’t find the energy to. College was exhausting. I would find myself reading the messages between meetings, and regardless of if I was able to reply, the messages were helpful. Especially when they were just motivational or mental health reminders.” –LGR Student
